A BOOKSHOP will be hosting a 30th birthday party with local authors, free fizz and nibbles.
Westbourne Bookshop, on Poole Road, first opened as a bookstore in 1903 but has been known under its current name since 1994.
The Angel family now run the store, as well as Gullivers Bookshop and Square Records.
After 30 years of serving the local community, Westbourne Bookshop will be holding an event to celebrate its customers.
On Saturday, June 29, celebrations will be “spilling out onto the street” with food and drinks. Shop manager, Anara Peach, said: “We are planning a 30th birthday party for Westbourne Bookshop on Saturday 29th June, and we would love to see you there.
“We’ll be spilling out onto the street with fizz and nibbles all day, spending time with our lovely customers and hopefully some local authors, celebrating the shop and the impact it’s had on the local community over the past three decades.
“I'm so proud of our rustic little book shop and my lovely team.
“It’s quite an imposing feeling to be carrying the torch through the shops 30th Birthday and I'm very privileged to do it.
“We would love to see you all here on Saturday to enjoy the festivities and hopefully meet some of our local authors.
“We should have some family goodie bags to give away too.”
Westbourne Bookshop is regularly visited by authors including thriller writer, Rachel McLean, who bases a number of her books in Dorset.
The event kickstarts at 10am on June 29 at Westbourne Bookshop.
