THERE were more Morris men than you could shake a stick at in Wimborne this past weekend – and the same could be said about the event 20 years ago.
When these pictures were taken it was June 13, 2004 – the third day of the annual Wimborne Folk Festival.
The sun had got its hat on, spirits were high, temperatures were sizzling and so were the sausages and onions browning nicely on four big barbies outside the Butler brothers’ Something Different shop in The Square.
A couple of stalls away in the packed Square, Janet Barrow and colleagues from Ferndown Phoenix Musical Society were selling cakes to raise funds.
There were stalls selling Dorset apple cake, jewellery, clothing, marinades, jams, pickles, olives and ice cream.
But the main draw was the music and dance.
Mostly it was rooted deep in English folklore, with the Morris teams and clog dancers.
