A POOLE-based artist who has gained international acclaim has opened an exhibition of her latest collection in Wimborne.
Katherine Stainton has opened an exhibition of her latest work in Walford Mill in Wimborne which will be on display from June 19 until 30.
Known for her coastal-theme artworks, Katherine's work has gained international acclaim due to her rhythmic colour compositions, creating balance and harmony that 'captures the essence of coastal life'.
She said: "My favourite time, when not behind my easel, is spent with my family, walking and enjoying the Dorset coastline and waters where we live.
"This is where my ocean-themed pieces were originally conceived, and I decided to bring them back to Dorset with me."
Katherine learnt her trade from her grandfather, Norman Neason, a well-known English painter who was commissioned to paint Queen Elizabeth II as a present for her 70th birthday and The Queen Mother as a gift for her 100th birthday.
The exhibition has been billed as a 'celebration of Katherine's vibrant coastal art' with visitors invited to experience the 'beauty and harmony' of her creations.
Her work is said to be inspired by the Dorset coastline while offering a 'fresh perspective' on the coast.
