DORSET’S new MPS have arrived in Westminster as they begin representing the area on a national stage.
It was like the first day of school for the 335 new MPs from across the country, with six coming from Dorset.
As reported, history was made in Bournemouth and Poole, as the three seats of Bournemouth East, Bournemouth West and Poole went to the Labour Party for the first time ever.
Bournemouth’s new Labour MPs, Jessica Toale and Tom Hayes, were joined by Neil Duncan-Jordan representing Poole.
The trio were pictured together with new South Dorset Labour MP Lloyd Hatton in Westminster Hall.
Mr Hatton, posting on social media, said: “An honour to begin our work in Westminster and to be part of a fantastic team of Labour MPs from Dorset.”
Mr Hayes said: “It's been a very busy few days, learning the ropes at Parliament.
“I'm trying to set up my office as quickly as possible.
“I can't wait to get stuck in speaking up for our town and fighting our corner in Parliament.”

The county also has two new Lib Dem MPs, in Vikki Slade in Mid Dorset and North Poole, and Edward Morello in West Dorset, who took the constituency for the party for the first time in its 139-year history.
Mrs Slade said her cheeks were hurting from smiling so much.

Two Conservative MPs retained their seats in the previously all-Conservative county, with Sir Christopher Chope securing the Christchurch constituency for the party.
Simon Hoare was re-elected in North Dorset and said on social media: “To serve a constituency is a huge joy and great honour.
“Excited & nervous new MPs of all Parties will arrive at the Commons today for their “inductions”.
“It is exhilarating and scary in equal measure. I wish them all well in their service to their constituents.”
