A BBC Countryfile episode about Hengistbury Head is set to be broadcast this weekend.
Sunday’s episode of the popular BBC show will be broadcast from the area on Sunday, July 14.
The episode will focus on everything from moths, dragonflies and goats to BCP Council’s £10million Long Groyne project.
The project will defend the coast from flooding and erosion, with the show discussing its importance in protecting coastal communities.
It will also focus on how the project will ensure the long-term safety and stability of the coastline, safeguarding homes, businesses and infrastructure.
The show will highlight the efforts of the council rangers and volunteers in protecting a range of species on the headland.
This includes moths, dragonflies and sand martins, with the programme showing how this conservation work is crucial for maintaining biodiversity and plays a key role in managing the wider headland ecosystem.
The episode will be aired on BBC Two on Sunday, July 14 at 5.20pm.
