A TEENAGE boy has been hit by a van and injured in a town centre leaving him with injuries.
Emergency services were called to Kings Road West in Swanage at 4.12pm on Tuesday, July 16, after a teenage boy was hit by a van.
The teenager has been taken taken to hospital for treatment to an injury that is 'not currently believed to be serious', police says.
The incident caused heavy traffic and delays in the area, including on Rempstone Road.
Motorists were being advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
A spokesperson for Dorset police said: "At 4.12pm on Tuesday, July 16 2024, Dorset Police received a report of a collision involving a van and a pedestrian on Kings Road West in Swanage.
"Officers attended with the ambulance service.
"A teenage boy was taken to hospital for treatment to an injury that is not currently believed to be serious.
"No arrests were made."
South Western Ambulance Service has been contacted for more information.
