THREE Carpetright stores in Dorset will close their doors after the business went into insolvency.
Stores in Christchurch, Poole and Dorchester are among more than 200 shops which will shut, after the company agreed a rescue deal with rival flooring retailer Tapi.
The deal includes buying 54 stores, two warehouses, the brand and its intellectual property.
However, the three Dorset stores were not among that package and will close, with more than 1,000 people set to be made redundant nationwide.
These staff members will face immediate redundancy, while employees at the company’s head office will remain employed while the business winds down its operations.
Administrators at PwC were appointed earlier in July, after the business said it was struggling in the face of weaker demand and a major cyber attack in April.
Previously, the company employed more than 1,800 people and operated 273 stores across the UK.
Orders made at stores now set for closure will not be fulfilled, administrators said, with customers recommended to contact their card provider to potentially secure a refund.
The Carpetright store in Weymouth is not on the list of stores set to close at this stage.
