THE booming bassline of drum and bass echoed around Bournemouth as Dom Whiting brought his Drum and Bass on the Bike back to the town.
The DJ returned to Bournemouth for the fifth time, a town he describes as one of his favourite places to come.
The 28-year-old is known for the event which he now holds internationally, after beginning it during lockdown.
More than 1,000 people of all ages and walks of life on bikes, scooters, skate boards, roller skates and just walking joined the ‘moving festival’ on Sunday, July 28.
The sun was shining for the event, with Dom telling the Daily Echo: “I always try and go towards where the sun is and my weather radar that I’ve been checking for the last two weeks has been pretty accurate.
“I’m really happy to be back in Bournemouth.
“I’ve been abroad for the last six weeks or so, so it’s brilliant to come from sun and come back to sun, and what a place to come back to.”
The ride began at the Vitality Stadium at around 2.30pm and headed along Holdenhurst Road to Station Roundabout.
Then, with the help of the police, the throng headed through Bournemouth town centre via Cemetery Junction, and up along the clifftop towards Boscombe.
Once in Boscombe, the ride headed down towards the pier and onto the promenade, finishing at El Murrino on the beach for an afterparty.
Dom said before the ride: “I’m really looking forward to it, we’ve got the weather on our side.
“I think it’s supposed to be beautiful weather tomorrow as well so I’m probably going to kick around and chill out for a couple of days because, like I say I’ve been travelling.
“It’s fantastic to be back in Bournemouth, and I’m sure I’ll be back next year.”
