A MULTICULTURAL festival full of colour is set to return for its fifth year this weekend.
World of Love Festival will come to Kings Park on Saturday, August 3 to celebrate global unity.
The event will begin with an energetic parade from Thai drummer and dancers at 12pm, with the park transformed into a blend of global cultures, showing rich and diverse heritage.
The festival has become known for its mix of contemporary and traditional arts, with around 50 different nationalities represented.
This year’s event will feature live music and dance performances, immersive art exhibitions and engaging workshops.
There will be everything from Thai drumming to Bolivian traditional dance, as well as free Zumba and Brazilian dance classes.
Founder of the event, Bea Sieradzka, said: “World of Love Festival has always been about celebrating our shared humanity through the lens of diverse cultural expressions.”
Those who want to try a range of international cuisine can look forward to Filipino dishes, Polish ice cream and authentic Indian cuisine, among others.
The festival also includes henna tattoos, face painting, Columbian Wayuu bags and a range of other cultural accessories available to buy.
Special attractions this year include Thai meditation workshops, a performance from South Sudanese rapper TR Craze 211 and a display of Thai cultural decorations.
Dancers from the Bulaklakan ladies and traditional Ghanian board games will also be on offer.
“We invite everyone to join us for a day of family fun and a joyful cultural celebration,” added Bea.
“My hope is that these seven hours will allow everyone to celebrate the beauty of our world and focus on the positive, peaceful connections that bring us together as a global community.”
Tickets cost £5.50 for adults, with children going free. For more information and to buy tickets, visit the World of Love Festival website.
