CHRISTCHURCH’S annual smooth-jazz festival has returned with flocks of people despite the lack of sunshine.
Thousands of people attended the Stompin’ on the Quomps music festival at Christchurch Quay on August 3.
This year marks its 28th year after the event was postponed in 2023 due to safety concerns around the weather.
However, organisers said this year’s event was focused on bringing back the artists that were postponed last summer.
This year’s event kicked off with The Sound of Bluenote followed by The Boogie Bumpers, Soldoro, FNUK, The Kim Cypher Band and The Taverners Big Band with Sam Merrick.
As well as live jazz music, visitors enjoyed a range of local food and drink producers.
A live Zumba class took place and children were also able to enjoy a variety of funfair rides.
Stompin’ on the Quomps is non-ticketed volunteer-led festival, although the audience is invited to make a donation.
