A THREE-DAY event promising to deliver ‘only good news’ is set to return to Bournemouth.
The ‘Declare the Good News’ convention will take place from August 9 to 11 at the Bournemouth International Centre.
More than 6,000 Jehovah’s Witnesses and members of the public are expected to attend each day of the event, with a ‘motivational’ program to ‘comfort and encourage’ the public.
It will present Bible-based videos, discourse and interview on topics ranging from the family, to coping with life’s challenging and sharing faith with others.
A highlight of the weekend will be the premiere of the first part of a new live-action series about the life of Jesus called ‘The Good News According to Jesus’.
The free event will also boost the local economy, with many delegates staying at local hotels and eating at local restaurants.
“We are excited to work once again with the excellent team at The BIC to host our summer convention,” said Matt Furneaux, local spokesperson for Jehovah’s Witnesses.
“These conventions are a highlight of the year for thousands of people who need to experience some positivity in their lives, and we are happy to enjoy the program once again in this welcoming and hospitable town.”
In the lead up to the convention, congregations have been campaigning to invite all members of their community to the event.
Last year, nearly 13million people attended more than 6,000 three-day conventions across the world.
Anyone is welcome to attend the event.
