THE countdown is on for the return of a festival described as ‘more than just a musical celebration’.

Cliff Top Music Festival is set to return to Highcliffe on Saturday, September 7.

Attendees can relive the golden era of funk, soul, and rock 'n' roll with performances from tribute bands and local talents, and a headline show by ‘The Sound of the O'Jays’.

There will also be retro dance-offs, vintage fashion contests, and a plethora of activities including children's entertainment, Punch and Judy, a fun fair, face painting, and interactive sessions with Dorset Rewilding, plus a special appearance by the charming Bournemouth goats.

Street food vendors will be parked up all day with a variety of delicious food and drink on offer, or guests can bring a picnic of their own.

And for this year’s event, Highcliffe and Walkford Parish Council has been announced as the headline sponsor.

"We're thrilled to support the Cliff Top Music Festival," said chair Lesley Dedman.

"This event is more than just a musical celebration; it's an opportunity to showcase Highcliffe's vibrant culture and welcoming community to visitors far and wide.

"Our sponsorship reflects our dedication to enhancing local tourism and fostering community spirit."

Cllr Andy Martin, BCP Council portfolio holder for customer, communications, and culture, added: "The Cliff Top Music Festival is a shining example of how we can use the arts to bring communities together and enhance our local economy."

Mandy Polkey, managing director of Stir Events CIC, the organising team behind the festival, said: "With the invaluable support of the Parish Council and Councillor Andy Martin, this year's festival is poised to be a landmark event.

"It's a chance for visitors to experience the unique charm of Highcliffe, from its heritage to its picturesque landscapes."

Mandy has also issued a special thanks to sponsors SP Safety Consultancy, More Bus, Pulford Publicity, Bee Spoke, The Oaks and Oak Photography.

Cliff Top Music Festival will take place in Wharncliffe Road between 11am and 7pm.
