AN 18-YEAR-OLD girl spat, kicked and punched three hospital workers in an unprovoked attack.

Macey Weston assaulted the staff at Poole General Hospital after they were unable to book her a taxi.

Prosecutor, Robert Salame, told Poole Magistrates’ Court on August 20 that the defendant attended the hospital for her mental health issues.

On March 16 at around 6am, Weston was discharged from the hospital following a mental health assessment.

However, when a staff member was discussing the taxi situation with the defendant, she became aggressive and said: “Get the f*** back or I am going to hurt you.”

Weston then punched the hospital worker in the left jaw before kicking another in the upper leg and spitting in the face of a third.

One of the victims said they are now fearful to go to work in case Weston comes back.

Another, who has been a healthcare assistant at Poole hospital since 2021, said: “I did not expect to be assaulted at my place of work where I try to help people.”

One of the victims also said: “Macey is becoming more and more of a problem because this has happened before.

“Some behaviour is excused for mental health, but she has been deemed capable multiple times so this cannot be excused.”

The court also heard that on April 5 at around 6.30pm a police officer was putting fuel in his car at Asda petrol station in Bournemouth when he was approached by the defendant.

Weston reportedly asked for help and said she was being followed.

It was understood that the people following her were social workers and as the officer was checking their identification he was struck by the defendant.

The police officer sustained cuts and swelling to his face.

A probation worker told the court that Weston is diagnosed with schizophrenic disorder, emotional and personality disorder.

They added that the defendant finds it very hard to communicate and has no insight as to why she committed the offences.

“She shows no remorse, but I believe that is down to her complex needs,” they said.

The defendant has no previous convictions and is not eligible to work due to her mental health.

Mitigating, Anna Zeeva, said Weston has an issue understanding the consequences of actions and is regularly at the hospital for her mental health.

Judge Orla Austin told Weston that the court takes assault against emergency workers very seriously.

Weston, 18 and of Brook Road in Bournemouth, was handed a conditional discharge for 18 months for four counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
