A NEW summer carnival and parade is set to take place in Boscombe this weekend for two days of fun, creativity and community spirit.
Boscombe Carnival and Parade will launch on August 24 and August 25 in the high street for a free fun-filled event.
Black Cherry, Africa Come to Bournemouth and Better Boscombe have worked together to create the carnival with activities for all ages.
Peter Ruscoe, chair of the Coastal BID and Better Boscombe Towns Fund board member, said: “The Boscombe Carnival and parade is set to be a spectacular showcase of our community's vibrant spirit and rich heritage.
“This weekend will bring together residents, holidaymakers, and visitors alike to celebrate all that makes Boscombe unique.
“The incredible efforts of everyone involved—from organisers to participants—have truly brought this event to life.
“I have no doubt that the carnival and parade will be the crown jewel of a weekend filled with joy, creativity, and unforgettable memories."
From 11am to 8pm on Saturday, August 24, there will be captivating performances by local poets, a vibrant choir and a pirate-themed party.
Visitors can also take part in creative workshops including the Steamship Circus, Treehouse Theatre and Squidge and Pop.
The following day will see even more action-packed workshops and performances such as the Mystical Maritime Parade.
The parade will begin at Pokesdown Railway Station at 2pm on Sunday, August 25 and will make its way through Boscombe High Street.
