A BOURNEMOUTH man has been jailed after being caught dealing drugs near a playpark.

Django Element, 23, was sentenced to 30 months in prison for his drug dealing offences in Bournemouth.

The defendant had been observed by police on July 6, 2022, and was seen leaving an address in Suffolk Road to approach a group of drug users loitering close to a playpark.

He was witnessed making exchanges with the group before he returned to the address.

Element then met the group again a short while later, where he was detained by officers for a Section 23 drugs search and found to be in possession of £200.

He was arrested in connection with the incident and when in custody, he was found to be in possession of 14 wraps of suspected class A drugs.

A further search of his belongings at the address uncovered a wrap of heroin and a small quantity of cannabis.

Element was subsequently charged.

The defendant was sentenced at Lewes Crown Court in West Sussex on Tuesday, August 13, after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

Police constable Stuart Grant, of Bournemouth police, said: “We fully recognise the harmful and damaging impact drug dealing has on local communities and we will relentlessly pursue anyone who is supplying drugs in Dorset.

“Through this investigation we were able to bring Element before the courts to face justice for his actions.”
