A PUPIL who missed most the majority of his school days due to an illness has passed all of his subjects.

Lytchett Minster Secondary School pupil Harley Taylor had two years off of school due to diagnosed chronic fatigue.

The teen, who was a national level swimmer prior to his condition, couldn’t even walk 50 metres at one point.

He said: “It took six months to eventually be diagnosed, I couldn’t do so much in that time.

“It was when I was in the back of an ambulance vomiting that I eventually was diagnosed with chronic fatigue.

“I had months off from school; in year 10, I was only in for one or two hours for some days.

“This was the same at the start of year 11, but then from September last year to January I was not in school at all. From January onwards, I had online one-to-one lessons five days a week.”

Harley said he has had endless support from staff at Lytchett Minster Secondary School.

He has also had cold water therapy, designed to essentially shock the body.

And then his school let him complete his exams at home, overlooked by invigilator Claire.

Ahead of opening his results, mum Danielle added: “It doesn’t matter what he gets, completing his exams is an achievement for us.

“The school has been so supportive, so incredible. At one point Harley couldn’t even walk 50 metres, that’s how bad it was.”

Harley passed every single subject, saying: “I’m so happy, they’re amazing results.”
