PROTESTERS dressed as orcas and wrapped in chains stormed Bournemouth’s latest TUI store calling for the travel agent to cut ties with SeaWorld.

The protesters burst into the TUI branch at Castlepoint retail park on August 22 holding signs reading “help me” and “free me.”

It acted as the largest action by PETA (people for the ethical treatment of animals) to urge the travel provider to sever ties with “marine abuse-ment parks.”

PETA protesters said other travel agents, such as Jet2holidays, have ended its promotions of animal parks including SeaWorld, Florida, and Loro Parque, Tenerife.

PETA senior campaigns manager Kate Werner said: “By putting profit ahead of the pain, suffering, and premature death of orcas, other dolphins, and whales, TUI is alienating caring British holidaymakers and compassionate travellers everywhere.

“TUI must end its sale of tickets to these watery prisons if it hopes to remain viable.”
