A PUBLIC pool is having a ‘tremendously successful first season’ under new ownership.
Christchurch Town Council reported the Quomps Splash Park was thriving under its control, having taken it from BCP Council.
A report into the splash park is due to be shown to the town council’s community committee when it meets on Tuesday evening.
It advises members that there are two outstanding repairs: a handpump feature, which has been approved with funding from BCP Council and ‘will be actioned very soon’, and some plastering of the wall beneath the waterwheel, which the town council is in discussions with BCP Council about.
Further improvements are also proposed, including heightening the dividing wall between two units containing chemicals within the plant room, and painting the wooden fence surrounding the park.
The report notes the park was closed for one day in July for essential repairs, but that it was having a “tremendously successful first season under Christchurch Town Council”.
