A COLOURFUL venue in the heart and soul of Southbourne is Pub of the Week.
The Spyglass & Kettle is a "pub that has it all", offering a selection of live music and entertainment.
Team leader Dylan Harding described it as a family-friendly venue in a great location.
Situated opposite Southbourne cliff top, the pub is just a stone's throw away from the beach, making it a perfect place for a post-walk pint.
Dylan said: "We stand out because of our location.
"We are across the road from the cliff and the zigzag leading down to the beach.
"We also have hotel rooms, which are dog friendly and have a see view."
The Spyglass & Kettle offers a range of entertainment, including live music every Friday and tribute acts during the summer and Christmas holidays.
On Wednesday, Spyglass & Kettle puts on a trivia quiz, and winners win a £50 Greene King gift card.
Tuesdays are card bingo night where winners take all, with prizes reaching as much as £400.
Dylan said: "There is plenty to keep people entertained and we have lots of regular customers who come in every week."
A selling point of this "community pub" is its colourful beer garden, which is "perfect for catching up with friends and family, you can enjoy the great outdoors while you eat".
Dylan described the food at Spyglass & Kettle as traditional pub food with a fancy twist.
Menu items include things such hunters chicken and fish and chips, but also beef bourguignon, katsu chicken and a selection of meals for people with special dietary requirements.
A cream tea is a new addition to the pub's offerings, but booking is required.
Roast dinners with all the trimming are served on Sundays, with a choice of turkey, beef, lamb or a butternut squash tart.
Dylan said: "We have a great selection of ales and IPA's and plenty of lagers, and a range of fruity gins and other spirits."
He added: "I really joy the atmosphere, and we have very friendly staff.
"We pride ourselves on excellent service."
