A MAN set fire to a Bournemouth café and slashed the tyres of a woman’s car, a court has heard.

Paul Armstrong, 60, entered guilty pleas at Bournemouth Crown Court on August 29 after reports he had set fire to a café in Moordown.

It was said that between May 6 and July 31, Armstrong stalked a woman by slashing her car tyres, sent threatening messages and turned up to her address unannounced to tamper with her car.

On July 12 he trespassed Foodelicious in Wimborne Road, Moordown, and stole two SD memory cards.

On July 23 he was caught carrying a bladed article in Wimborne Road, Winton.

Then on July 29 he damaged Foodelicious by setting fire to the property.

It was previously reported that seven fire engines were called to the café after a fire broke out at around 1.20am.

Armstrong, 60 and of Pine Road, pleaded guilty to arson, stalking, burglary and possession of a bladed article.

He is due to be sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court on October 25.
