A NEW food festival coming to Wimborne in September will be attended by a former Great British Bake Off contestant.
The free festival will take place on September 14 from 11am to 4pm with the main site at Willow Walk near Waitrose.
A variety of of events, tastings, demos and talks will take place which includes the opportunity to meet former Great British Bake Off contestant, Maggie Richardson, who featured in season 12 of the show in 2021.
Matt Renaut, managing director of Dacombes of Wimborne, said: “Wimborne has so much to offer when it comes to food and drink and this new festival is a wonderful way of showcasing that on one special day.
"Local businesses along with the support of Wimborne BID have worked really hard to make this happen and we hope it will become an annual event.”
Dacombes has sponsored the festival and will run a Dorset apple cake competition that will be judged by BBC Repair Shop star, Sonnaz Nooranvary.
Church Street and Wimborne Square will also offer alfresco food and drink with lunchtime offers from Ten Bottles Tapas and Wine Bae and Piazzo Lounge.
A festival programme can be found at the Museum of East Dorset or visit Wimborne Food Festival's website.
