A WEST End adaptation of Pride and Prejudice will come to Poole for a week-long run.
Beginning the week of November 18 at Lighthouse, the new production, titled Pride and Prejudice* (Sort Of), takes Jane Austen's novel and reframes the story.
Featuring a string of pop classics such as Young Hearts Run Free, men, money and microphones are fought over in this irreverent and affectionate adaption of the book.
A spokesperson for Lighthouse said: "This new production is directed by its writer, Isobel McArthur, winner of the Evening Standard Award, having also won the Olivier Award.
"It is unprecedented for a young female writer to jointly win these two prestigious awards."
Isobel has been known to adapt other classic works of literature which includes Robert Louis Stevenson's Kidnapped for the National Theatre Scotland and 17th-century comedy, The Fair Maid of the West for the RSC.
The play will offer evening shows on every date with a matinee on November 21 as well as its evening performance.
