A PRIVATE ambulance service has launched in Poole, looking to support the night-time economy.

Phoenix-EMS moved to the area after the founder, Darren Cable, relocated from Sussex.

The business offers a range of services, including private hospital transfers and medical personnel at sporting competitions and festivals.

Darren said: “We deal with everything from sprains, cuts, cardiac arrests to people getting spiked or having drug overdoses.”

Phoenix-EMS is looking to infiltrate BCP's night-time economy by supporting bars and nightclubs with spiking and fights in the town centre.

Darren said: “I want to supply a rampant response team for the night-time economy.

“Working in the town on weekend evenings, I’ve heard screaming for help in relation to the delay in NHS response times.

“With all the students, the demographic is quite young, and unfortunately, things will happen.

“Knowing that the venues can make a phone call and have medically trained staff there within minutes would be really helpful.”

The private ambulance service’s main focus at the moment is covering events; they have two fully equipped full-sized ambulances in the fleet and three cars.

Darren said: “Demand in the private sector for medical cover is high, because of the ongoing issues with the NHS.”

The team includes registered doctors, paramedics, and nurses who are “ensuring the safety and well-being of attendees at a wide range of events.”

The service is CQC-certified in order to comply with medical rules and regulations.

Darren said: “Our goal is to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone attending these events.

“We understand that each event is unique, and we will work closely with people to tailor our services to meet specific needs.”

They also offer “safe and comfortable” medical transportation, including inter-facility transport for patients between healthcare facilities.

Darren added: “We work with the council, adult social care departments, insurers, and medical repatriation companies to provide reliable transport solutions.”

Another service Phoenix-EMS offers is training sessions, providing education and skills development for individuals working in the emergency medical services field.

The accredited courses cover topics such as basic life support, emergency medical technician training, advanced life support, and paediatric life support.
