THE family of a man who passed away suddenly has paid tribute to him, remembering him as a "kind, jack of all trades".

Robin Dawkins, who was described by his loved ones as "liked by everyone," unexpectedly passed away from heart failure.

Born on January 19, 1962, Robin lived in High Howe and worked as a maintenance technician at Tesco for more than 15 years.

He was 62 years old when he passed away on August 2, while working at Tesco at Tower Park.

His wife of 32 years, Bridget Dawkins, was by his side when he passed.

She said: "He was a very well-liked person.

"There wasn't a thing in the world he wouldn't do for anybody.

"He was a jack of all trades, there's nothing he couldn't do and nothing he wouldn't do."

Robin ran a charity group called Teen Wheels, where he taught children how to change engines, weld and build cars.

"He could do anything. For the 32 years we were married I never worried when things broke because I knew he could fix it," Bridget added.

When Bridget and Robin met in 1992, she already had three children, aged between 7 and 14.

Bridget said: "They always saw him as their dad, and we all thought the absolute world of him."

His daughter Louise said: "Dad, the greatest man to come into our lives. You will never be forgotten and forever in our hearts."

A funeral was held on August 20, attended by around 130 people who came to pay their respects.

Both Robin and Bridget worked at Tesco, and Bridget said dozens of their colleagues attended the funeral.

She added: "It was lovely to see how many people cared."

Following Robin's passing, a fundraising page has been launched to raise money for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

Tesco at Fleets Bridge and Tower Park have been raising money in Robin's memory through donations, raffles and cake sales. So far, more than £1,500 has been raised.

Bridget added: "Tesco has been absolutely brilliant and helped in every way that they can.

"The kindness people have shown has really kept me going.

"We are all lost without him. He will be missed by one and all."
