RECENTLY I was forced to have to get about on a mobility scooter due to chronic back pain which now stops me walking everywhere.

This has meant me finding out just how bad all our pavements are because when made years ago, making them level seemed not to have bothered with. Consequently the scooter bucks and jolts around like a dinghy in a rough sea and your back gets it -in the back!

If that were not bad enough, the council has not made sure that every junction has a drop down kerb. But that's the council for you and complaining to them about that would be a waste of time. All that once more confirms it's more of 'broken Britain'. Wish I'd stayed in Oz in the 70s.
