A MAN allegedly threatened to set fire to a Bournemouth petrol station.
Rory James Bolton Mayoh was reportedly on the roof of the Asda petrol station in Holdenhurst Road, Lansdowne, on Friday night, September 6.
The 31-year-old Shaftesbury resident had a lighter on him and “threatened to start a fire” after he was allegedly on the railway tracks at Bournemouth train station.
Police officers were then called at 10.35pm and he allegedly made threats to the officers and threw items from the roof.
Once he came down, he reportedly made a further attempt to start a fire at the petrol station before being detained.
During Mayoh's arrest, it is alleged he bit one of the officers on the leg.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “He was taken to hospital as a precaution and subsequently released into police custody.
“The man, aged 31 and from Shaftesbury, has now been charged with criminal damage, trespassing on a railway, arson with intent to endanger life, assaulting an emergency worker and affray.
“He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Monday 9 September 2024.”
