A DETERMINED police dog raced to apprehend a suspected burglar after an incident in Hampshire.
Police dog Blaze, a Hampshire and Isle of Wight police dogs provided essential help in catching a man involved in a burglary on Lyndhurst Road.
After a man was caught by Blaze, he was arrested on suspicion of burglary dwelling with intent to steal.
A spokesperson for New Forest Heart Police said: “PD Blaze has been hard at it again. While most of us were tucked up in bed last night, he and his handler were busy apprehending a suspected burglar.
“It followed a report of burglary at an address on Lyndhurst Road, Ashurst shortly before 1.30am on September 9.
“PD Blaze and handler were among the officers who attended the scene.
“Within 15 minutes, a 27-year-old man from Southampton had been caught up with and arrested on suspicion of burglary dwelling with intent to steal.
“The arrested man remains in police custody at this time. We’ll be sure to bring you any further updates as soon as we’re able to.”
Speaking after the arrest, PD Blaze said: “I don’t know what all the fuss is about. I was just doing my job. I’ll do anything to get my tennis ball.”
