A 20-YEAR-OLD man from Poole has been charged in connection with a serious crash.

Dorset Police received a report a grey Volvo XC90 had been stolen from an address in the Westbourne area overnight between Tuesday, September 10 and Wednesday, September 11.

The vehicle was seen in the area of Poole town centre at around 6.25pm on Wednesday, September 11, where it reportedly failed to stop for officers.

Searches were carried out, assisted by the NPAS helicopter, and the vehicle was subsequently found in Alder Crescent where it had reportedly collided with a red Alfa Romeo.

Ryan James Benjamin Carpenter, 20, of Poole has been charged with driving a motor vehicle dangerously; failing to provide a specimen for analysis; using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third party insurance; driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence; being the driver of a vehicle and failing to stop after an accident; and aggravated vehicle taking and vehicle damage.

He was due to attend Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday, September 13.
