A BODY has been found by police searching for a missing man believed to be in Swanage.
At around 12.05pm on Friday September 13, officers sadly located the body of a man near to Old Harry Rocks.
While formal identification has not yet taken place, it is believed to be a missing man, James Whitney, who was last seen at around 1pm on Thursday, September 12, 2024.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and next of kin have been informed. Our thoughts are with them at this extremely difficult time.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We would like to thank everyone who was involved in the searches, including HM Coastguard, Dorset Search and Rescue (DorSAR), the NPAS helicopter, Wessex Rescue, Wessex 4X4 Response and Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.
