A MAN ‘laughed’ as a 16-year-old girl tried to escape an alleged clifftop rape less than a year before raping another teenager, a court heard.
Brian Nutt, 21 and of no fixed abode, is accused of raping a girl the day after her 16th birthday in Barton-on-Sea and later raping a different girl in Bournemouth Central Gardens.
Prosecutor, Richard Tutt, told Bournemouth Crown Court that the girl met with friends on August 10, 2021, in Barton-on-Sea where the defendant later joined with his friend.
The group chatted and drank alcohol until the girl’s friends left, leaving her with Nutt and the other boy.
The pair began to consensually kiss on the sand when she believed the friend left.
She said the defendant got on top of her and put his hand down her trousers when she tried to politely reject him but he carried on.
The girl believed if she allowed it then it would not go any further.
However, Nutt got onto his knees and took his clothes off before doing the same to her when she tried to leave.
She told him to stop but he said to “shush” and that it would be fine.
She said she continuously said “ow” which made the defendant laugh in response.
He allegedly put his hand round her neck, with the girl feeling ‘trapped’, before gripping her by her hair.
She told police she cried while her face was forced into the sand and the defendant told her to be quiet.
When the defendant stopped, his friend reappeared and they returned the girl to her mum where she burst into tears.
In a police interview Nutt said the girl instigated the kissing and that his friend was there ‘the whole time and would have seen everything.’
Ten months after the incident on June 4, 2022, a different 16-year-old girl was in Bournemouth town centre with friends, drinking and socialising.
The group were stood at a bus stop when the defendant approached.
A man and woman later shouted at the defendant accusing him of raping a girl near a bus stop.
Police attended and spoke to Nutt, asking him why he was in town, to which he said: “I am just out trying to get myself some p*ssy.”
Officers left the scene along with the girl’s friends, leaving her alone with the defendant.
They began kissing consensually but when he tried to put his hands down her trousers, she told him to stop and tried to remove it.
However, she said he was too strong and continued anyway, before dragging her down a slope while pulling her hair.
She said she could not see herself getting out of the situation and “went numb.”
“I was like a doll, I could not move,
“It was like he was pulling me where he wanted me to go.”
The girl told him to stop because she was in pain, so he briefly moved before pulling her onto his lap and forced himself on her again.
After the incident she left the bushes with scratches, bruises, muddy clothes and leaves in her hair.
While sat on a bench, Nutt said he had previously been accused of rape “so don’t go round telling people I raped you.”
The defendant was later arrested and remanded in custody.
Nutt denies three counts of rape and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The trial continues.
