RINGWOOD Carnival’s popular procession will return this weekend with more than 5,000 people expected.
The market town’s two processions – widely regarded as the main attraction – will take place on Saturday, September 21 at 1.30pm and 6.30pm.
Road closures will be in place during the processions in Christchurch Road and Market Place while the parade takes place.
Eye catching floats will come courtesy of local schools, clubs and societies as well as local businesses while the carnival queens and princesses will lead.
Traditional marching bands will also pound the streets plus there will be classic cars, dance troupes and music.
There will be children’s games, stalls, arts and crafts, face painting, demonstrations and live entertainment.
There will be an official after party from 9pm onwards at Frampton’s Bar in High Street.
A spokesperson added: “Fresh for the Ringwood Meeting House & History Centre for 2024, are the Carnival Concerts.
“Why not get your carnival day started at Ringwood Meeting House with a live music concert session? Listen to harmonious music in our town’s most historic building.
“With perfect natural acoustics, the Carnival Concert’s live artists will shine a light on this special day and start it off in style - receive a warm welcome, grab a refreshment and enjoy.”
