A BOURNEMOUTH nursery has been described as “warm and welcoming” with a “nurturing atmosphere” in its latest Ofsted report.
Tops Bearwood, on Magna Road, have been rated ‘good’ by the education watchdog in the praising report.
It said children are happy to arrive at the nursery and settle in quickly, while staff form close attachments to the children, providing them with ‘reassurance and cuddles.’
“There is a supportive and nurturing atmosphere to help children to move through the nursery confidently,” the report said.
It added that managers and staff plan a “broad and balances curriculum” based on what children need to learn next.
Inspectors found a strong focus on helping children to feel socially and emotionally secure which supports children’s well-being effectively.
“Staff know children well and build on their skills and understanding as they play.
“There is a consistent approach to supporting independence throughout the nursery.”
The report said that the nursery is calm and inviting with “inspiring activities” for children to explore.
The children were described as busy and motivated learners with good behaviour, while staff were said to treat children with kindness and model good manners.
“Children beam with pride when staff praise their good teamwork.”
Inspectors said the special educational needs coordinator provides effective support to staff so that they can help all children make good progress.
Staff implement timely and targeted plans when children need extra help and additional funding is used effectively.
Jodie Robinson, nursery manager said: “I am extremely proud of the team here at Tops Bearwood and the hard work they put in everyday.
“They provide interesting and challenging activities catered to the needs of the children and ensure that the children are well cared for and have the best time at nursery while playing and learning.
“I am so pleased with the outcome and thank my team for everything they do”.
Tops Bearwood is one of over 30 nurseries within the chain, Tops Day Nurseries, across the South and Southwest.
The nursery offers early education and care for children aged from three months to school age.
