After the deaths of the two young people near Bournemouth Pier on 23rd May 2023, the police, after detailed investigation, stated that the pleasure cruiser Dorset Belle had not been involved in the tragedy.
Now the coroner has confirmed this fact using the Police data to reach his conclusion.
Within hours of the drownings, the chair of BCP banned the Dorset Belle and all other boats from using the pier.
This ruling stands to this day despite boats having had no part in the tragic events.
The recent cruises by the paddle steamer Waverley, always a crowd puller, left Swanage Pier this year instead of Bournemouth and it looks like none of the pleasure boats based in Poole will be permitted to use our pier to drop off and pick up holiday makers or for any other purpose.
When will boats be once again free to use the pier?
It's what the pier was built for.
