BOURNEMOUTH 7s Festival has announced the addition of women’s football as a new sport in its 2025 line-up.
This announcement marks a major step forward in promoting women’s sports.
The popular festival with over 30,000 visitors is renowned for bringing together social athletes to compete in tournaments such as rugby, netball, dodgeball and hockey.
The Women’s Football tournament will be open to teams of all abilities, with a fast-paced 7-a-side format designed to entertain both players and fans.
The sporty festival is already underway for its 2025 event which is gearing up to be the biggest and most sport-centric year yet.
Festival Owner and Founder Roger Woodall, expressed his enthusiasm for the new sport, saying, "At Bournemouth 7s we’ve always prided ourselves on putting participation front and centre, and creating a dynamic, inclusive environment.
“The introduction of Women’s Football fits perfectly with our vision of offering a platform for athletes across the sporting spectrum."
Registration for Women’s Football teams is now open on the Bournemouth 7s Festival website, and teams are encouraged to secure their place early.
Bournemouth 7s is set to take place on the bank holiday from May 23 – May 25, 2025.
