A STEAM and vintage vehicle show in Burley has been cancelled after bad weather has waterlogged the showgrounds.
The Burley Steam and Vintage Vehicle Show was supposed to take place on September 28-29 in Burley Park but recent bad weather has meant the showgrounds have become unsuitable for the public and exhibitors.
With more rain scheduled, it has been considered 'too risky' to continue with the show with the organisers sharing their sadness that the event won't happen.
On Facebook, the organisers said: "It is with great regret that we have had to cancel this year's show.
"Unfortunately due to the ground conditions, we have had to make a tough decision to cancel the show as the field is already waterlogged and is too much of a risk for public and exhibitors safety.
"It is a tough decision as we like to raise as much money as possible for our charity but unfortunately with more rain due to come it’s too risky.
"We like to thank all the public and exhibitors for your patience and we hope to see you at our 2025 show with hopefully a dry field."
The show was able to raised £7,000 for the Hampshire and Isle of of Wight Air Ambulance.
