A POPULAR University Hospitals Dorset event set to take place this weekend, has amended its location.
Hundreds of hospital staff and friends are expected to take part as they walk either 3km, 5km, or 10km through Upton Country Park.
After exploring Upton Country Park’s picturesque scenery, participants will be treated to a couple of slices of complimentary pizza.
Last year, £9,188 was raised for the trust through the event.
The event is usually held at Upton Country Park with an array of market stalls from independent sellers.
Now, due to weather conditions, the event has slightly changed.
University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity Fundraiser and event lead, Amy Beauchamp said: "Walk for Wards 2024 is still very much taking place this Saturday (28 September 2024), and we can't wait.
"However, unfortunately due to predicted weather conditions out of our control, we need to move this event to take place at the Walled Garden at Upton Country Park instead.
"We have been working together with the team at Upton Country Park to make sure we can move our event for you and all our supporters to an area that is flatter and paved for people's safety.
"The event will still provide a great family day out but be on a smaller scale as we cannot facilitate our local stallholders. We can assure everybody that we will still have Hot Radio bringing all the fun, our live entertainment and pizza provided.
"You will just need to wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
"Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday and walking for our hospital wards."
Walk for Wards 2024 takes place on September 28.
