A NEW coffee house has revealed the date it will be opening in Wimborne.
BEAR, the popular Midlands-based independent coffee house, kitchen, and bar brand, will open on Thursday, October 17.
Situated inside the former Dancing Moose pub, the brand says they are committed to “breathing new life into cherished local buildings whilst retaining their unique architectural features.”
BEAR Wimborne’s store manager, Ian Wilson, said: “I’ve lived in Dorset for over 20 years, so it’s a real honour to be opening BEAR’s first store in the area!
“We’ve worked incredibly hard to create a space that reflects the spirit of Wimborne while adding BEAR’s signature style.
“I can’t wait to welcome the community and share everything that makes BEAR so special.”
The venue will operate as a versatile coffee house, kitchen, and bar, offering a welcoming space for residents and visitors alike to enjoy ‘top-quality coffee’ and fresh brunch options by day, transitioning to delicious cocktails, burgers and small plates by night.
BEAR’s Wimborne venue has been described as a “stunning fusion of the building’s original high ceilings, exposed brickwork, and a modern, vibrant aesthetic—honouring the building’s historical charm whilst providing a contemporary space for the community to come together and connect."
As with BEAR’s other locations, the Wimborne store will also welcome well-behaved dogs at all times.
The coffee house will serve its evening menu every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 4pm, bringing a range of fully stacked smash burgers, small plates, loaded fries, and twists on cocktail classics to Wimborne.
A spokesperson for BEAR said: “Since launching in 2016, BEAR has built a strong reputation for offering exceptional speciality coffee, fresh seasonal food, craft cocktails, and beer, all served in beautifully designed spaces that evolve from day to night.
“Mark your calendars for the grand opening of BEAR Wimborne.”
Co-founder Craig Bunting said he is ‘thrilled’ about the expansion to the south coast.
Craig said: “We’ve always hoped that we’d be able to bring BEAR closer to the coast one day, and now it feels so wild that dream is actually coming true.”
