RESIDENTS are being urged to have their Covid vaccination at a walk-in clinic on Monday.
NHS Dorset will attend Age UK Day Centre on Monday, October 7 as well as other walk in clinics across the winter months.
People can drop in to see Holly Wentworth, a lead vaccination nurse for flu and Covid vaccinations, between 11am and 2.30pm at the Age UK Bournemouth, Poole & East Dorset Day Centre in the United Reform Church, Charminster.
Holly, who works with Dorset HealthCare, said “The flu virus changes each year, which is why it’s important to get vaccinated annually to be protected against the latest strains.
“It's the same with Covid-19. Keeping up with your Covid-19 vaccinations helps to protect against new variants.
“By getting vaccinated, you lower your chances of catching these viruses and experiencing severe symptoms.”
Diana Logan, Age UK day centre manager, said: “It's great to have health clinics like this come to us. For many people, booking an appointment for a vaccination can be a hassle, or it’s something that’s easy to forget.”
