EMERGING artists will showcase their work at an exhibition in Boscombe this week.
Connected Grounds brings together the work of artists from the 2024 Access BEAF programme.
Run by BEAF Arts Co., the programme helps artists who have faced significant barriers into accessing the arts and education.
The exhibition will be held at Boscombe Arts Depot and forms part of a weekend of events taking place between October 11 and 13.
Events will be held at Boscombe Arts Depot, The Old School House and the new Haviland Road Studios.
Mahtab Grimshaw, a British-Iranian multidisciplinary artist, said: “For the exhibition, I’m creating an environment that reminds us of childhood – a sense of utopia.
“I’m taking the opportunity to try something I’ve not tried before in my work – using organic material like bamboo and willow.”
Over the last few months, 11 artists from different national cultures living in the BCP and wider Dorset area, have been meeting monthly to develop their artistic skills and build a supportive community.
Other artists include Adilson (Adi) Naueji, who was born and raised in Angola and moved to Bournemouth six years ago.
Adi won the Lighthouse Poole Open Call Exhibition back in April.
