A WOMAN is to stand trial after she allegedly set fire to a caravan parked in a layby.
Jane Amanda Keith, of Steer Road, Swanage, has been placed in custody following an appearance at Poole Magistrates’ Court.
The 55-year-old appeared before magistrates on Friday, October 4, charged with arson, assault by beating, assault by beating of an emergency worker and making threats to damage or destroy property.
Firefighters were called to put out the caravan blaze at 2am on Thursday, October 3, in Ulwell Road, Swanage.
Swanage resident Keith indicated a guilty plea to arson and two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker at her first court appearance.
She pleaded not guilty to assault by beating and it’s unknown what her plea is for the charge of making threats to damage or destroy property.
Keith is due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday, November 11.
