A DORSET-based care home hosted an educational dementia care event hosted by Harry Redknapp.

Luxurycare recently hosted the successful 'More Than Just Care' event, led by Harry Redknapp, which featured insights from Dr Gemma Jones.

The event focused on providing support and education to help the public better understand dementia and its associated behaviour's.

Attendee Kay Capom said: "The event gave me a new perspective on supporting my loved one with dementia."

Dr Gemma Jones shared heartfelt insights into the challenges of dementia, "helping attendees feel more confident in responding with compassion to the condition's behaviours."

Her advice offered both practical and emotional support for families and caregivers.

Lewis Mannings Hospice Care supported the event, with speeches from, chief executive officer, Clare Gallie and the director of clinical services Laura Adams.

Laura said: "It was humbling as a nurse to hear many transformational stories around patient care and experience from kind and skilled people investing the time to create positive outcomes for vulnerable people and their devoted families."
