CHRISTCHURCH Central WI has reflected on a busy few months at its October meeting.
The group held its monthly meeting at Druitt Hall in Christchurch on Wednesday, October 2.
The meeting was opened by the Vice-President who welcomed everyone, before Jerusalem was sung and birthday cards were given out.
Following a break for refreshments, Clive Greenaway complete with fez, gave both a demonstration of magic and a very amusing talk ‘Tommy Cooper Remembered’.
The October meeting followed a busy summer for the women’s group; the lunch club had a open-topped bus trip to Swanage in September and enjoyed a fish and chip lunch; thank you letters were received from Becky’s Café for donations which were collected by the group in July; members were given the chance to become citizen scientists and provide samples of local water to be sent off for analysis.
Looking forward, Christchurch Central WI’s social groups, book club and walking group will continue to meet this month.
Events held by other WI’s have also been lined up, and the December meeting will include a small bazaar.
