BRYANSTON School in Dorset has crowned a winner for its BRYte Lights initiative.
The scheme, which launched in 2021, is designed to recognise staff members that go the extra mile, spanning a team of around 500 support staff across the two schools.
Arthur Buchan, security guard, was confirmed as the 2024 winner from a list of nine finalists at a special awards dinner held at the senior school.
He said: “Having worked here for just over twelve years, I am honoured to have received this award from my colleagues.
"One of the things I enjoy most about working at Bryanston, is watching how staff, both academic and support, interact with the pupils. I believe that it is this interaction that allows our pupils to feel at ease and enjoy the unique environment in which they are educated.
"No matter what the season, you see what a wonderful job the grounds team do, and I really do appreciate how lucky we are to work in such a wonderful environment.”
Arthur’s responsibilities include ensuring effective communication within the security department, assisting the head of security in implementing the school’s security strategy and helping to promote a security awareness culture within the school community.
Nick Dodd, Bryanston’s chief operating officer, said: “Huge congratulations to everyone that was nominated and for those that reached the finals.
"It was a superb evening of celebration for everyone that works so hard to make Bryanston such a brilliant place to work.”
