WIMBORNE will light up for Christmas at the end of November, it has been confirmed.
The market town’s annual Christmas light switch on is expected to be attended by thousands of people.
The free-to-attend annual event will see the lights dazzle the town at 4.30pm on Saturday, November 30 in High Street car park.
Throughout the evening there will be a line-up of free entertainment from various Dorset-based performers.
Previous entertainment put on has been from the Dorset Youth Marching Band, Jaimie Jambo, Susie Kimber, Soul Party, Blue Moon Boys, Big Night Out and Love Soul Choir.
And after the switch on, there will be carol singing by the Minster Choir.
At around 5.15pm, the Wimborne Militia will fire muskets on the Minster Green.
Wimborne Minster Town Council said: “It promises to be a fun-filled event for the whole family, and everyone is welcome to attend.”
