A WETHERSPOON pub is now allowed to stay open for longer after being given the thumbs up by the council.
The Parkstone and Heatherlands in Wimborne Road, Winton is allowed to stay open until 1.30am on Fridays and Saturdays.
And on Sundays to Thursdays, the pub can stay open until 12.30am - an extension to the previous trading hours that stopped at 11.30pm seven days a week.
BCP Council’s planning officer Adam Davies said: “While it is concluded that the increase opening hours [...] would result in a slight increase in noise due to the comings and goings of customers, it would be at a relatively low level similar to that experienced in the built-up area.
“Residential flats above in this commercial centre location on a through street have coexisted with the existing business and surrounding uses for a considerable time.”
The proposals saw no objections from Environmental Health during the consultation period.
The pub was given permission by BCP Council back in October 2022 to open for longer hours, with opening times from 8am to midnight. Last orders are at 11.30pm.
