A ‘SUCCESSFUL’ charity shop has announced it is set to close after seven years of trade.
Cats Protection Wimborne, in High Street, thanked its customers and supporters as it announced the closure on social media.
The post said: “After a successful seven years we are incredibly sad to announce that 2024 will be our last year trading as Cats Protection in Wimborne.
“The team would like to say a huge thank you to all of our supporters, you've kept us going and made us smile through the good times and the hard times like the Covid lockdowns.
“We have absolutely loved being part of the Wimborne High Street and all that brings.
“Your support for our annual birthday parties, fashion shows, festivals stalls, and by giving prizes for raffles; Wimborne really does have a special magic about it.”
The manager also thanked the staff and volunteers who ‘hold a special place in their heart’.
They said: “We have built a solid team who support and lift each other up.
“The shop literally could not have run without you.
“You all have such a diverse range of amazing skills and have brought these to work every day.
“And lastly to our customers and donors, thank you, thank you thank you.
“From bringing in your donations, signing up to gift aid, to being there every day, telling us stories about your lives and talking to us about ours, to bringing us in coffee and treats on the slower days.”
The store’s last day of trade is planned to be December 23, with promotions and events set to take place in the lead up.
Customers and residents took to social media to express their sadness, with one saying the store was the “best charity shop in Wimborne”.
