THE TRIAL for a man accused of murdering a woman and attempting to murder another could be pushed back.
Nasen Saadi, 20 and from Croydon, has been charged with the murder of 34-year-old Amie Gray who was found dead at Durley Chine Beach on May 24.
He is also charged with the attempted murder of 38-year-old Leanne Miles who was taken to hospital with serious stab wounds.
Saadi has been remanded in custody at HMP Belmarsh awaiting trial after pleading not guilty to the two counts.
The trial is currently listed for November 25 at Winchester Crown Court however, the court heard at a pre-trial review on October 18 that the date may be pushed back.
Defence counsel, Charlie Sherrard KC, discussed the defendant speaking with a physiatrist on October 24 and the prosecution meeting with him the following week.
Mr Sherrard said that both counsels are considering changing the trial date to December 2 at the earliest but this is yet to be officially confirmed.
The case has been listed for a case management hearing on November 7 at Winchester Crown Court.
Dorset Police received a report at around 11.40pm on May 24 that two people had been stabbed on Durley Chine beach.
Ms Gray, who lived in Parkstone, was pronounced dead at the scene at 12.24am on Saturday, May 25.
A post-mortem examination was carried out by Dr Purdue at Holly Tree Lodge, with the cause of death provided as multiple stab wounds.
Meanwhile, Ms Miles, 38, suffered serious injuries but was discharged from hospital.
