FROM the moment you arrive at Tylney Hall, you are transported into a fairytale.
The sweeping tree-lined driveway, a picturesque scene straight out of a storybook, leads you to the country mansion house.
This magical structure, complete with fairytale towers, exudes an air of luxury and British tradition that is both impressive and inviting. It’s like stepping into another world, far removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, where time seems to stand still.
The architecture of the mansion, with its tall ceilings and large rooms, is a testament to a bygone era, with every detail meticulously crafted to create an atmosphere of elegance. The mansion’s only competition is the surrounding gardens that beckon you outside from the elegance of the bar, lounge, and drawing rooms.
The surprisingly large volume of staff at Tylney Hall ensure that every guest’s needs are catered to, whether it is carrying items up the grand stair case or simply offering a friendly face. They are incredibly welcoming and helpful, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. Their dedication to service enhances the overall experience, making your feel feel valued and cared for like you are staying in a grand family home rather than a hotel.
The generous bedrooms are luxurious, clean and groomed. Interior design has gone into ensuring the coordination of the rooms, with welcome card, crisp white bedsheet sheets, jacuzzi baths, complementary Molton Brown bathroom products, dressing gowns, slippers and the essential tea / coffee making facilities they really have thought of everything to ensure guests are comfortable.
The Oak Room Restaurant at Tylney Hall offers a dining experience that is a real treat. Catering for all members of the family from a baby menu offering a variety of small taster items to the children’s menu and then the more discerning diner, the restaurant offers a menu that caters to all tastes and ages. The lounge and gardens also appeared to offer dining opportunities. As we were drawn into the garden, we could not help but notice relaxed dining opportunities that guests were enjoying on the terrace.
Tylney Hall’s beautiful gardens are set in 66 acres of glorious parklands, and you could be mistaken for thinking you were in the gardens of any national treasure. They are a perfect blend of beauty and creativity, the gardens offer a tranquil retreat, providing a perfect setting for a leisurely stroll, quiet moment of reflection or in our case a game with the kids. Having used a map to find your way around because the gardens are so large, everywhere you look are spectacular views. A walk, (a tree climb & a game of hide and seek) around the manicured gardens, boat lakes, water gardens, orchard, and rose gardens leads you to the original drive containing avenues of Chestnut and Lime trees.
Alternatively, you can simply enjoy the views from one of the many seating points on the terrace or around the pool. The grounds combined with the sunshine we have had of late give you the feeling of being abroad without the challenge of the airport with a family. It’s like having a slice of paradise right at your doorstep.
Despite the tranquillity, there’s no shortage of activities at Tylney Hall. With both indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, a gym, sauna, spa, and a tennis court, there’s just too much to do in just one night. Whether you’re looking for relaxation or recreation, Tylney Hall has something for everyone and of course the kids had to try both pools.
In conclusion, a stay at Tylney Hall is a magical experience. It’s a place where you can escape from the mundane and immerse yourself in luxury and tranquillity.
The combination of the fairytale setting, the excellent food, the beautiful gardens, and the attentive staff makes Tylney Hall a perfect getaway. It’s a world away from day-to-day life, offering a taste of being abroad without leaving the country. Whether you’re staying for a night or a week, Tylney Hall promises an unforgettable experience. It’s not just a place to stay; it’s a place to experience, and to create memories where all the family will be welcomed.
