A MAN was hospitalised after firefighters were called to assist a crash in Sherborne.
A car was found overturned by police officers and firefighters after a two-vehicle crash on Ridgeway.
Once on arrival, it was reported that one person was helped out of the car and one person was rushed to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be serious.
The road was temporarily closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We had a report at 7.45pm on Tuesday 23 October 2024 of a single vehicle collision at Ridgway in Sherborne.
“Officers attended, along with the ambulance service and fire service. It was reported that the vehicle had overturned and road closures were put in place as emergency services responded.
“The male occupant of the vehicle was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not believed to be serious. The road was cleared and police left the scene at around 10.20pm.”
A spokesperson for DWFRS said: “We were called at 7.49pm yesterday (23 October) to Ridgeway, Sherborne to assist the police with a two-vehicle road traffic collision.
“Two crews from Sherborne and a crew from Yeovil attended; no-one was trapped, but one person was helped out of their vehicle into the care of the ambulance service. Our stop was at 8.27pm.”
