A BOURNEMOUTH sandwich company has announced its closure after years of struggling with the cost-of-living crisis.
Peaches of Bournemouth, an independently owned and managed sandwich shop and café bar offered home roasted meats, fresh ingredients, vegan and vegetarian options and homemade hot food.
The company, which operated from Basepoint Business Centre at Hurn, was also popular during the Bournemouth Air Festival for providing lunches for performers and supporting staff.
Now, after years of trading across Dorset, the company has announced its closure.
A social media post by Peaches of Bournemouth read: “With a heavy heart we would like to advise that Friday October 25 will be our final day of trading.
“This year has been a huge challenge for our small business. Our rent and electricity doubling in price (within three years) parking charges, rising business costs, food price increases and cost of living increases across the land for people in general, has led us to the decision that our business is no longer viable in its current location.
“From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank every single person that has supported us throughout the end of lockdown and beyond.
“We have loved every single moment of feeding you on a day-to-day basis from our door, providing your corporate lunches and being there supplying food for your family events and occasions.
“We love what we do and as such have worked as a team to deliver to the best of our ability every time. Not only have you been our customers, you have been our friends.
“We would also like to thank our amazing team, Danielle, Kamila, Sarah and Isabella for giving their all to Peaches over the past years. We’ve had the best time working with you.”
Customers took to social media to voice their sadness at the sudden closure.
One person said: “Really sad to see this you delivered some great afternoon teas and sandwich platters always the best quality and delivered on time. I’m sure you are going to be sadly missed.”
Another wrote: “So sorry to hear this, thankyou for your fabulous afternoon teas , rolls, sandwich platters they were the best. Delivery of our food was always on time, wishing you all the very best for the future.”
